Greetings in the precious name of Jesus!
We live in a world today where true commitment seems almost old-fashioned. Faithfulness to your spouse, putting your family’s needs before your own, and standing firm in your responsibilities are values that many have forgotten. Yet, commitment is essential if we ever hope to become mature, responsible adults.
To be committed means you care deeply — it shows that you have a desire to see something in your life thrive and succeed. God not only calls us to be devoted to our families, but He also requires us to live responsibly and honorably before Him.
When Jesus called the fishermen, He invited them to leave everything behind and become fishers of men. In Revelation 3:20, Jesus says,
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Jesus desires to be part of your life, but He will only enter if you open the door to Him. Attending church only when it’s convenient will never produce the relationship with God that your soul longs for. Just like a marriage, a relationship with God requires daily effort, love, and commitment.
If you never truly fall in love with God — and stay in love — your devotion will eventually fade. The greatest thing that ever happened to me was when I repented of my sins, was baptized in the precious name of Jesus, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gave utterance.
Committing my life to a faithful and just God has brought blessings beyond measure and a life with no regrets. But the choice is yours alone — your soul is your responsibility.
Remember, Jesus loves you!
Sincerely, Pastor Daryl Scott
